Description

Hyaluron® is a food gel that concentrates high molecular weight hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a special mucopolysaccharide occurring naturally throughout the human body. One of the most heavily researched substances in medicine with thousands of clinical trials mostly in the field of orthopedics, skin and eye health.

MUSCO-SKELETAL – HA is the major component of synovial (joint) fluid, its purpose being to lubricate the joints, protect cartilage surfaces, and scavenge radicals and debris. It decreases joint inflammation and pain, and is one of the main components that make up cartilage. HA is a major component of intervertebral disc in the spine.

EYE / VISION –  HA is an important element of the vitreous humor of the eye. HA is a shock absorber to the retina, thus helping to prevent trauma to the eye.

SKIN – Hyaluronic Acid is essential in the skin tissue to retain skin moisture and functions, and as a lubricant between the skin’s connective tissues. As we age, the presence of Hyaluronic Acid in the skin decreases, leaving the skin dry and wrinkled. Replenishing the HA levels in the body allows the skin

to retain moisture, leaving the skin soft, supple and wrinkle free.

CARDIOVASCULAR – Aids in lubrication of our circulatory system. High levels of HA have been found in heart valves.

IMMUNE – HA activates white cells and controls cell migration. Reduces bacterial infections, and it was found that HA reduced the number of infections in patients with chronic bronchitis.

GYNECOLOGY –  Hyaluronic acid helps to maintain or restore the integrity of the vaginal tissue that over the years tends to thin and dehydrate. It therefore helps to prevent typical age-related ailments, such as vaginal atrophy and dyspareunia.

Supplementing with a good source of Hyaluronic Acid is thus essential to maintain health and youthfulness, preventing bad ageing. However, for a HA supplement to be effective, it needs to be of a high molecular weight: specific studies have shown that only the high molecular weight version of HA is incorporated into tissues and performs its beneficial activity, while low molecular weight may have actually the opposite effect of stimulating inflammation (Luke R. Bucci, Amy A. Turpin, Will the real Hyaluronan please stand up?, JOURNAL OF APPLIED NUTRITION, 2004. 54-1).
